    UWP Series UHF synthesized wireless microphone system. Package includes a lavalier microphone, bodypack transmitter and portable diversity tuner. Mounting adapter for camcorder included. Channels 30 to 33. The UWP-V1 includes extremely robust metal construction, mic/line input selection on the bodypack transmitter, a miniature metal body omni-directional microphone and plus the receiver includes a convenient auto channel scanning function allowing automatic search for unoccupied channels. UWP Series transmitters and receivers can also be purchased separately.

      I bought this mic as I am a college professor and wanted to record my classroom lectures. However, I move around the classroom and do a lot of hand gestures etc. so being tethered via a corded mic was far to restrictive. The output of this device goes right into the mic input on a PC and works perfectly. The audio is very crisp and clear and it is very easy to use. My only complaint is the battery life seems to be relatively short. Using Alkaline batteries I only got about four hours operation. Outside a small indication on the LCD display, there does not appear to be any warning system to let you know the batteries are about done. I checked the indicator after about 3 hours of lectures and it indicated a "full charge" and when I looked after the next hour it was indicating they were about exhausted. Fortunately it was still working and I captured the entire lecture. The batteries are easy to change so the down time is minimal if you know you need to change them. I am now trying lithium batteries to see if I can get better life out of them.

      There is an audible hissing noise in all the audio I record with this.

      I speak several times a month in hotel meeting rooms, all over the US and abroad. I used to pay a couple of hundred dollars per day to rent similar mics (usually the SHURE brand) from the AV folks contracted by the hotel - buying my own mic/reciever is the best technology decision of my speaking career!! I'm writing this review two years after buying the product, and they are still going strong. They are amazing, excellent sound quality, I can speak 6 hours on one set of batteries, have never had the slightest problem with channels or tuning (I'm a novice and would be in trouble), and interestingly, many of the AV guys in the hotels (who still set me up to house sound patches) are awed by these SONY marvels (having never seen them before), especially because the receiver is so small, a fraction of what they typically use (they just have to plug it into the wall or a mixer). One Canadian AV guy jokingly threatened to steal my set if I didn't watch them carefully. I cannot recommend highly enough.

      I run a small videography business and I needed a dependable wireless lapel microphone.

      I have used this wireless system on several location shoots and it never fails to produce crisp clear results every single time. Battery life is about 8-10 hours on continuous use. This unit doesn't eat batteries. However, I do recommend using nothing other than Duracell AA batteries. I have found that no other battery our performs Duracell.

      This wireless system is worth every penny I spent on it. It is extremely easy to use. The instructions that come with it are a little difficult to understand but there are only a few settings for this microphone and receiver. The buttons are user friendly and the menus are easy to navigate. Like I said, there are only a few customizable settings: volume and channel are pretty much it.

      I highly recommend this wireless lapel unit for video or live sound applications.

      This is my first lavalier mic and sound quality is great. I'm not sure how it could get any better. The only thing I don't like about it...and this is very minor is the clip that holds the mic on your clothes doesn't hold the mic well. I'd also prefer a system where you could remove the antennae for easier storage. Other than that it's a great system.

      My UWPV1 arrived yesterday, and I'm thrilled with it. The audio is crystal clear - no static at all, and has good dynamic range. The transmitter and receiver are both extremely solid and fell like they'll take a beating. I let my camera roll while I walked around the house with the mic, and the signal remained solid even when it had to go thru multiple walls.
